While on Saturday you might have been bar hopping on Milans most famous canals, on the last Sunday of the month it transforms into the most lovely antique market. It serves as a perfect Sunday stroll while watching the most awesome vintage artifacts. The Naviglio Grande Antique Market is definitely my favorite of all the Milan markets.

A lot of the shops on the canal are vintage clothing shops, antique stores or art galleries and on these Sundays they set up on the street in front of the shops. In addition to the store owners there are many other antique fanatics selling their stuff, so that the whole area is filled with the most gorgeous vintage artifacts on display.

The things you can find here vary from Italian baroque paintings and bird cages to old American road signs and vintage CocaCola posters. Although on the other side of Europe, this part of Milan during the Sunday market remembers me of Portobello Road in London. With all the restaurants open, the street filled with people and art all around you, like Portobello Road, it creates a great place to spend your Sunday afternoon.
