This New York-style “deli” is a nice place to get a quick breakfast, lunch and coffee. The bagel factory have some typical Italian sandwich compositions like the “Parma” or the “Cotoletta”, but they mainly focus on their American style, both in appearance and food.
They have all the typical American stuff you might need while in Europe, like Ben&Jerry’s ice cream, granola yoghurt, muffins, chocolate chip cookies and they even serve American filtered coffee (which is considered an actual sin for many Italians as they believe you’re ruining great coffee). And then there’s the best item on their menu: the New York cheesecake! All their bagels and pastries are self-made. They are served with nice, fresh ingredients, good coffee and great desserts. Even Milan’s famous California Bakery serves the home-made bagels of the Bagel Factory!
You can also buy their bagels sliced and deliciously toasted with all different flavors in one package. I love this idea because you get around twenty slices of different kinds of bagels, so every time you eat a different slice instead of having to eat an entire bagel of one kind. My favorite bagels are “cinnamon raisin”, “cranberry” and “whole wheat everything”! They also sell their home-made granola in a package, which happens to be my favorite thing in the world and together with their cheesecake, the main reason why I come here so often!
It’s not the best place to have a long, relaxed lunch with friends. But if you don’t have a lot of time, The Bagel Factory makes for a pretty good breakfast or lunch.
