The first thing you will do in Milan is supposed to be visiting the Duomo, certainly. It is the most spectacular spot in the city. This gothic cathedral is completed almost in six centuries. It was started to build in 1386 and opened its doors in 1965. It is the 5th biggest cathedral in the World and the first in Italy (don’t forget that Vatican is a independent state in Italy).
The first classical move will start to take a photo in front of it then you’ll head to inside the cathedral to visit it. Moreover you also have the opportunity to go up to this fabulous monument in order to have a closer look to the fascinating decorations and to have an upper look to the flat city. There are even events on the top of the Duomo sometimes, if you are lucky you can catch one of them!
Having the biggest square in the town in front of it, it hosts several organizations and event during the whole year. The whole life in this town starts from this point! It is in the center and we can say that all the other spots are located according to it. You can reach there with the metro (green and yellow lines) or with the tram.
