I know it may sound unreal, but if you’re living in Italy for a while you may get really tired of pizza and pasta. A great alternative is eating a burger and fries at Burger Wave on the Naviglio.

The owner’s passion for Australia and surfing is made obvious throughout the whole restaurant. With surf boards and the map of Australia on the walls, and burger names like “Shark Bite”, “Kangaroo Fighter” and “Bells Beach” you feel like you’re eating in a cool surfers joint. The fresh ingredients and homemade fries and sauces make for a great meal and there’s a relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant. There’s something at burger wave for everyone. Whether you prefer a beef, chicken or lamb burger, or you’re a vegetarian that’s been dragged to a burger place by your friends.

But don’t expect to go get a quick bite to eat. It’s packed almost every day, everything is made fresh and the owners (like every true hippie) don’t seem to have any rush at all, so it may take a while before you leave the place.
