The coffee Bar : “De Amicis”
Caffè De Amicis is Situated near the university La Cattolica and the basilic San’t Ambrogio; just at the exit ot the metro San’t Ambrogio; this coffee bar is ideal for a break or for lunch.
Italian people from all ages go there to have a cup of coffee while reading a newspaper; which you can borrow at the coffee bar.
You will see students meeting for a drink; working people eating during their lunch break and the old habitués who just came for a coffee or to chat with the barman. It is not a place to stay all the afternoon though; you just eat or drink and go.
For lunch; there are lots of different paninis that you can eat at a table or take away; they all cost around 4 euro; which is the price in the city.
Then you have a choice of “primo”; often pasta and salads ; and “secondo”: meat with vegetables or fish or vegetarian dish. I like it because of the good rapport quality/price. The “secondo” (main dishes) costs at maximum 8 euros. You can choose your meal directly in the window display, where they show you all the dishes of the day. I’m pretty sure they are all homemade and it is fresh food.
If you go there for a coffee, try the “cappuccino al caramello”, cappuccino flavored with toffee.
There is a wifi connection so you can check some infos on your computer if you brought it.
